Common Ford Key Issues 

Worn Key Blades
Probably the most common issue with Ford keys is the end of the key wearing down, the genuine Ford keys are made with a soft metal, and constant use in a corroded lock will eventually wear the key down to the point where it doesn't work anymore.  We've been called out to a large number of vehicles with this problem.

Worn Ford Key

Cutting a new key will normally sort this issue, however on some occasions the lock has also become and worn, and will require re-combinating or a new lock altogether. We can decode your lock on-site and cut you a key, which can save you the enormous cost of a full lock set from the main dealer. 

Helpful tip: Regularly lubricate your locks to stop the build up of corrosion and keep the lock in working order.

 

Ford Transit Remotes Failing
The blue Ford Transit remote 2007(56 Plate) onwards. This remote is designed as a sealed unit, meaning the remote can get wet without any damage occuring on the inside. You don't have to replace the battery in these remotes as they charge up while the ignition is active. In theory this is a good idea, however after a few years, and damage to the remote, it eventually fails.
