Common Renault Key Issues
Types of Renault Keys
These are transponder key blanks that can be cut to match your vehicle, and programmed to start it, they can be a cheap alternative for a spare key, rather than paying for a remote key, they are simply used to unlock the door via the lock, and start th car as normal. If you would like a standard spare key, it would be wise to test whether the alarm activates when a remote is not present. To do the test, simply lock the car with your current remote, wait 60 seconds and open it with the blade, if the alarm doesn't sound, you can have a standard key, if the alarm goes off it's wise to get a remote key.
